Meet the technicians

Kim Schanzer is a Licensed Esthetician, Esthetic Laser Specialist and Laser Safety Officer, and the co-founder of Pulse Laser & Skincare Center in New York City. As a female entrepreneur with the goal of starting her own business, Kim practiced law for 12 years at top law firms in New York City before opening Pulse in 2009, taking on nightly classes to become an Esthetician. She received her training and certification at Atelier Esthetique Institute of Esthetics in New York City. Prior to that, Kim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and received her law degree from Albany Law School of Union University in New York, graduating Magna Cum Laude and an Editor of Law Review. Today, Kim's legal expertise is of much value to her business, where she oversees the company's business initiatives in addition to treating patients daily. Kim was raised in Great Neck, Long Island and has lived in New York City since 1999.

Michelle Moyer is a Licensed Esthetician, Esthetic Laser Specialist, and Laser Safety Officer, and owner of Pulse Laser & Skincare Center in New York City. A true skincare expert, Michelle pioneers top non-invasive skin care treatments including laser acne and scar removal, skin tightening, pigment and vessel removal, and rejuvenating chemical peels as well as laser hair removal. Michelle customizes skin care combination therapies with lasers and peels based on her client's individual needs. She was trained and certified at Atelier Esthetique Institute of Esthetics in New York City, and received her Bachelor of Arts and Science in Business Administration and Psychology at the University of Nevada. Michelle worked in the beauty industry prior to Pulse as a skin care specialist for Estee Lauder and Clinique. Before embarking in a career laser treatments, Michelle worked in the fashion industry for 8 years for esteemed fashion houses Giorgio Armani and Wolford as an Account Executive, and that experience fuels her passion for fashion and beauty to this day. In her personal time, she is and active animal activist volunteering and fostering for animal rescues.

Jennifer Belser joined Pulse Laser & Skincare Center as a technician in September 2010. Prior to working at Pulse, she spent nine years working in the fashion and beauty industries, both as a model agent for top companies like Next and Wilhelmina, and as the bookings editor for O, the Oprah Magazine. Jennifer's combined love for beauty and science led her to obtain her license as an Esthetician, Esthetic Laser Specialist and Laser Safety Officer. She received her training at Atelier Esthetique Institute of Esthetics in New York City. She also received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Delaware. In addition to treating clients for laser hair removal, acne and scar removal, chemical peels, skin tightening and spider vein removal, Jennifer leverages her communications background and skincare expertise to author thePulseSkin.com blog, and assists with daily public relations and marketing efforts for the business.

Monica is a Licensed Esthetician, Certified Laser Technician, and Laser Safety Officer. She joined Pulse as a Technician in November of 2010. Monica fell in love with make-up at the age of fifteen after a summer trip to Europe had her more fascinated with the beautiful lotions and potions that the pharmacies carried abroad than the museums. The connection between looking good and feeling good has created a lifetime mission for Monica to empower both women and men with confidence. Monica has had the pleasure of working with many beautiful and strong women but the one who left the biggest impression on her was Diane Furstenberg who gave her the best advice "Use your sweetness, it gives you your strength." After many years in the beauty industry, she attended Atelier Esthetique for her Esthetic and Laser training. After studying lasers and the effects they had on the skin Monica realized she had found a calling to help both women and men feel better about themselves using technology that addresses hair removal, acne and skin tightening in a far more permanent manner than any cream or concealer ever could.

Komal Tahir started working at Pulse as a laser technician in April 2012. She is a NYS Licensed Esthetician, Certified Laser Hair Removal Technician, and Laser Safety Officer. Komal is also ITEC certified, allowing her to work internationally as a beauty and facial electrical specialist. She received her esthetician and laser schooling at Atelier Institute in 2011, where she continued to work post-graduation as an administrative assistant to the owner. Komal truly enjoys treating her clients and giving them the best experience she can. As someone who had suffered from excessive hair growth, she gets no greater joy than passing along a feeling of self-confidence and beauty to her clients. Aside from English, she is fluent in 4 other languages which include Gujarati, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu.
